What is a Cataract?
A cataract is a clouding of the lens behind the iris and the pupil that develops due to aging. What are Premium IOLs?

Boston cataract patients can undergo the procedure using traditional or premium IOLs. Traditional IOLs are monofocal lenses that correct for vision at one distance only, meaning patients can only improve either far, intermediate or near vision. Although traditional IOLs offer an improvement for clouded lenses, post-operative patients may still need to wear eye glasses or corrective lenses for near, far or intermediate vision.
Premium IOLs allow patients to simultaneously correct for cataracts, as well as other eye conditions, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia and astigmatism.
